I'm currently in 2nd year of an engineering foundation degree getting funded and will hopefully be going into 2nd year of engineering once finished the foundation degree next year
I did 1 year at uni years ago and was funded for that year
I've been told I get 4 years of finance so my question is when I jump to 2nd year of engineering next year do I get funded for that year and then have to pay forent the final year?
    Thanks

You need to check with SFE, but my understanding is you have an issue.

What happened during the 1 year and why did you stop?

You get funding for degree length +1 gift year.

    Your funding will have been>

    1. Used oft year in the year on its own
    2. That means degree +0
    3. You used 2 years for your foundation degree, so that means you have funding at degree-2.
    4. That means they will pay from year 3 onwards and you have to pay fees for the second year.
    5. Funds are applied in reverse starting at final year and count backwards.

If you left the one year for medical reasons or family crisis, then you could try a compelling personal reasons claim, but then youd really need medical evidence.

As it is you need to find funds for the second year fees.
