I guess that's because it's how they do it for all the volunteers, we just both stole the idea

Maths is going fine, we haven't actually done anything new yet though
Chemistry is a struggle at times, as my teacher uses flipped learning so we basically teach ourselves the content then be provides us with exam questions in class to test our understanding, so at times I'm utterly confused, but we just did Redox and I'm understanding that so I'm happy atm

I probably did as well tbh... Can't remember things from back in September

I found Chemistry really hard last year! But looking back on it, it looks a lot simpler than I made it out to be

Maths however, I'm loving the Pure and Mechanics units, but I'm really not liking statistics... :nope:

Hopefully that's true for me too then!
We haven't started any applied units yet (we do all the pure, then all the stats, then all the mechanics). I did stats GCSE, so I'll probably start off most confident in the stats (after pure, because pure is life), and we'll see if I like mechanics at the end of the year  Didn't like what we learnt in additional maths, but I suspect that was as much because we rushed through it as anything else. How far have you got with pure?

My results indicate that I'm good at stats, though I don't really have much of a passion for it. But let me know if you need anything.

I've got about halfway into pure at the moment. We're doing all the modules at the same time :afraid:

Update #1 - First Update :woo:

This update will be a bit short, but I promise it'll be longer next time :giggle:

So, yesterday I received my report on how I did for the first half term... I was quite nervous to open the letter, but to my surprise, I'm actually doing well for once!

My predicted grades, based on how I did last term, are:

    Chemistry: A+
    Biology: B+
    Maths: A

(obviously, A+ and B+ aren't grades, but that's just what it says in my report  )

I have to maintain these grades by constant revision from now onwards... Which is really easier said than done. I'm just too lazy

I have listed a weakness in each subject which I need to improve on by the end of this week:
    Topics

    Chemistry: Emission and absorption spectra
    Biology: Protein levels
Maths: Standard deviation (and when to use the sample/population formulas)

This year, I have made sure that a lot of effort has gone into organising my work. And the effort seems to have been worth it, as compared to last year, I'm now able to revise from my notes a lot easier! :yep: (And my folders also look beautiful, compared to last year  )

Today, I didn't get as much work done as I wanted But tomorrow, I have a lot of revision planned... fun, fun, fun!

Let's just hope my laziness doesn't get the better of me again tomorrow!

Standard deviation. Look at the phrase. What are you being asked to do?

[turn this phrase into two present tense verbs]

I think it's probably due to the wording of the questions, I'm not getting any of stats
