    Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of hopefully getting my history predicated grade changed from a C to a B.

I'm applying for Philosophy and Politics and my top two choices are Cardiff (ABB) and Southampton (ABB).

BUT if this doesn't happen will I still receive offers?

Hypothetical predicated grades if I don't get history changed to a B:
    Philosophy & Ethics - A
    Geography - A
    History - C
    EPQ - A

    Thanks

When I went to a Cardiff Uni open day (my firm choice to-be) I sat in a Maths subject talk and someone asked a similar question. The admissions tutor replied that they give out offers to people who they think will have a chance at getting their entry requirements IN THE END. Therefore, if right now you are predicted just below the requirements they give on the website, then they will still give you an offer as they believe you, after putting in the effort, can achieve the required grades. Of course, this was for the Maths department, but I expect the University as a whole will act in a similar way, so I would say you're in the clear, especially with a good grade in EPQ.

P.S: Nice to know you want to go to Cardiff too!

Haha don't worry, I'm the same. So much so that I have used the UCAS Offer Calculator to make a table full of all the possible probable results I could get as well as the chance of getting them. Apparently for Maths BSc it's >90% chance of getting an offer even if you're predicted BBB.

I'm in year 13 so not at Uni yet!

That's a good idea actually! Good luck in your exams and hopefully we will both get offers from Cardiff and if we do we will have to meet up 😊
