It depends on how strong the relationship is. Some people want more freedom when they start uni so they can do the things that the want, date new people, and focus on their studies, which gets in the way of the relationship. However, if two people genuinely love each other and communicate well, it is possible for a couple to remain faithful and loyal, and cope with the long distance.

I haven’t had a relationship during uni but me and my boyfriend were going to try it and we never made it. We did however try a long distance relationship when he went to South Africa for 2 months. You have to be so so so committed if you want to do it. We ended up breaking up after 5 weeks because I just felt like I was putting all the effort in and he didn’t really care, and he was out there enjoying himself while I sat st home waiting for him to message me x

This makes me so nervous! Ive been with my boyfriend for 3 years and i plan to go to university this year however he isntgoing as is completing an apprenticeship. I honestly believe we could last because i dont believe i would end it but distance is so difficult i guess its hard to tell

I started dating someone at university, it was about 3 or 4 months before he went to China for a Year Abroad. We tried to speak when he could until a few months later, he just sent a text breaking things off, saying we didn't have a future. Not long after, I found out he had a new girlfriend he met in China. I was heartbroken at the time. Looking back, I think the relationship wasn't that good before he left.
