[Uni] How to make effective notes from textbooks, journals etc? watch

    • Thread Starter

    Hey TSR,

Started a Classical Studies degree in September. I love the lecturers, modules, and university, but I am struggling to take notes for pre-reading, seminar prep etc., particularly journals and heavy textbooks. The language and sentences often befuddle me, and they refer to subjects and areas that I have no knowledge whatsoever in, and the leaps and connections confuse me greatly. I want to excel, and I want to do well, but I can't afford to labour for hours on the same book/journal article writing down almost everything as I cannot filter the important from the chaff.

    Thank you!
