    Hi everyone

I'm thinking of changing my course when I finish this first year. I'm doing psychology single honours and I'm not enjoying it half as much as I expected. I'm questioning criminology now but how do I go about this and how does this affect my student finance?

    Thank you for any advice

From a finance pov everyone has a gift year to allow for false starts. That means you can restart a new course after a year and the new course will be fully funded. However if you need to restart again or have to repeat a year then a second additional year would have no tuition fee loan.

How to change depends on whether you want to change university as well as course or just course. If you want to swap course but not university then speak to your student records/faculty office. They’ll explain how it works. If you want to swap university then read the Transfer faq stuck in the Applications, Clearing and UCAS forum. That explains how to make a transfer application.
