Hi guys im from pakistan. So basically my school doesnt allow students to appear in As in A1 and now im in A2 and i regret not taking As. My aim is to study undergrad in uk and im thinking of taking As this year and A2 next year. Ofcourse i will be appearing as a private student in both As and A2 . So i wanted to know if this will effect my application when i apply for early admissions next year. My subjects are physics chem and math .

In 95% of cases you will not need AS exams and since a change in exams, then many applicants do not take them.

Exams used to be AS and then A2 so you would take 50% in one year and then 50% in the following.

Exams marks are now linear and marks are awarded based on an exam for 100% of the marks at the end of the two years.

University offers are based on three full A levels. An AS level on its own will rarely be relevant, so you should think again whether you need it. Take it if you wnat, but its likely to have little or no relevance. Check the entrance requirements for the uni you are applying to.

Unis in the UK might pay more notice of an IPQ/ EPQ if they are offered internationally? Its basically a 5000 word essay and they sometimes lower the grade offer by one grade if you get an A. Its equivalent to half an A level.and might be better use of your time.
