Because it is a PCSpecialist laptop.

    Hello everyone,
    https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/9S7-...K_2152491.html

£30 more gets you an SSD, a larger HDD, and most importantly you jump up a GPU tier from the 1050ti to a 1060, which is a significant jump. If you're paying over £1000 for a gaming laptop then you should be getting at least a 1060.

It'll probably be overkill for your needs, but honestly, go elsewhere as PC specialist are known for being very arse-y when it comes to warranty claims, which is moreover proven by the dead pixel guarantee, 30 days vs industry standard 2 years?

Agreed, but OP wanted a laptop.

Three months ago I built a new PC for £750. If you need to buy a new monitor, keyboard, mouse and disk drive, then it would have sot about £1,000, although I did get a core i5 for £100 less. Gaming doesn't require an i7 really though, hyper-threading isn't essential for most games.
For perspective, Mass Effect Andromeda plays smoothly on high graphics settings so it works very well. For the games you are suggesting then you might not need such power.

I would hold off to the new year when there should be plenty more AMD laptops with Ryzen APUs in them. Hopefully they will give you a lot more grunt for your £.
Not sure why people are talking about a desktop when he's made it clear he wants a laptop?

That’s what I get for not reading it properly

OP if you’re not going to play the more demanding games then you could go for an i5 instead of an i7 and save yourself the money or invest in a 1060 rather than a 1050 Ti. I’m not a fan of PC specialists either cause I think they’re a bit overpriced and you could get more value for your money from elsewhere.

That's just me. I thought I'd just say in case anyone found it useful to know the price difference.
