    Hello everyone,

I will be completing my HND course in computing at the end of this year and I'm looking forward to applying to a university.

My question is, will it be better to do a final year top up or is it better to gain direct entry into the final year of an ordinary degree?

I was told that top-up degrees are suited more for HND students because the modules they study in that year will start from scratch. On the other hand, a final year of an ordinary degree will require students to continue projects/ some modules from the previous (2nd) year. In other words, It will be difficult for me to cope since I will be a newbie and have less knowledge than those who already studied in year 1 and 2 of the programme and have previous work they are continuing with.

    Please help guys and girls.

    Thank you

A top up year is going to be the easier option to get onto as you've said your modules won't have to directly match to get onto one.
