Can someone explain what the dot between the copper sulfate and water means? Does it mean something to do with aqueous solotuion?
CuO + H2SO4 + 4H2O → CuSO4•5H2O

I think it indicates that there is some intermolecular bonding between the CuSO4 and H2O molecules? Like a crystalline structure perhaps?
