    My question is related to university finance and financial help departments.

    Do they have a separate number that they can call student finance on to discuss student matters (or for students to call student finance on)?

    Also, when they write a cover letter for an appeal - do they send it directly to Student Finance (and receive an outcome from them) or is it still sent in by the student?

    Often yes they’ll have named contacts they can call with you to resolve complicated problems. It might be your student finance or student advice team. It depends on your university.

    You’re best speaking to the team at your university directly to find out how they can help you and how it works.

    Hi J_89,

    If you are appealing a decision, you can attach the university supporting evidence when sending the appeal. A decision of the appeal will be sent directly to you, the student.

    If you wish your university to be able to call and discuss your application on your behalf, then you need to call us and set up Consent To Share CTS.

    Consent To Share is a verbal authorisation set up by you, to allow your university to call and discuss your application on your behalf.
    We cannot access your account or discuss anything specific with them, without this being in place.
