HELP! Microeconomics sucks and I've got an assignment

Hi everyone,

I am studying Economics at uni, year 2, and I have received an assignment 3 weeks ago that I am dreading to start. It has to do with the rice market in China and how would the population react if the price would increase, taking into consideration that rice is a staple good.
I am so stuck, I have to talk about the competitive markets and maybe do a comparison between the western market and the Chinese one, which I find really difficult. The main issues are that I cannot find any sources, regarding China and their market and eating habits, so I can include in my report.
I am doomed!
