    What's the difference between a cash machine and a cash register? Is one used more in certain areas? Or are they used just as often as each other?

    The difference between an ATM and a cash register?

    Well one is in a store and used to pay for things, the other you take money out from it.

    Cash machine to me means an ATM.
    Cash register is the the till in a shop/within a business.

    Cash register is the American term for s till in a shop
