Hi everyone. I am starting my nursing degree in March and just trying to get my head around all this finance malarkey.

So here’s my situation and just wondering if anyone’s in the same boat.. I am a single mum aged 23 to a 16 month old. Living with my parents and will do for the three years but I’m not reliant on their income.

Just wondering will I be entitled to much? Will my parents income be assessed even though I am not reliant on them?

    Many thanks

Are you in Wales? If not then the NHS bursary no longer exists for new students.

We still have the bursary in Scotland I believe (I started before it stopped so not 100%) how it works for us is that it's not means tested and everyone gets the same amount and I believe can then apply for additional if they have dependents. I know people who live at home who get same bursary as those who live alone or halls.
