Utter nonsense! What a horrible way to think.
how is it a horrible way to think when the threat of execution would make rich people with more power actually consider their actions?

    Why would you support paedophilia??!
I'm not supporting paedophilia - I'm advocating better distinction between paedophiles and child molesters. This will help fewer paedophiles not molest children in the first place.

You put public information on a public profile on a public forum, and object when people look at it?

Because you base your argument on nothing more than soundbites and you're not thinking for yourself. You cite inequality amongst the classes as the problem, but your solution to this inequality is to violate the most important of our human rights, the right to live. Read that again, human rights - they are human and have the same rights as you do. Your view is ridiculous because it is illogical and so poorly thought out and immature. You sound like you've perhaps read a socialist manifesto once and haven't actually began to expand on your own views or think for yourself. Not once have you attempted to expand in a mature way to offer a more nuanced point of view.

You're simply acting out of spite for the sake of it. Pointless, cruel and immature.

Not difficult when it's readily available information
I don't see the problem with any of that information. I got an account on here because I have offers to go to universities in the UK such as Bristol and UCL and thought this website would help. I've started a poll simply because I wanted to know the general opinion on this matter. However, now I know to keep my mouth shut and conform to social opinions of the left losers when I go to the UK and maybe now I'll stay here. Seems that bullying someone until they accept your views is how the left wing works in the UK.

No as the assassinator was killed. It makes it ironic and the death penalty was warranted in this case.
It is ironic but it doesn’t make it morally ‘warranted’ at all. You really brought out a textbook example of ad hominem by bringing Ghandi’s death into the discussion. Sad to ruin an interesting moral and practical debate with a flimsy red herring.

actually all i'm suggesting a more proportional punishment system in which the total impact of a crime is considered, meaning people who commit actions that lead to mass suffering (e.g. large-scale tax evasion, complicity in large-scale child labour, funding terrorist organisations due to a profit motive ("banana republics"), etc ) are dealt the most extreme punishment.

also it's highly debatable whether or not mass murderers actually have a right to live since they are so willing to violate other people's right.

Nope. The law is so easy to manipulate these days and some crimes are extremely easy to frame people with. The law is far too fragile to return the death penalty. Because of this, many cases are left up to the judge to decide the sentence of a person, and it isn't fair to just give a person control over another's life.

It's not a flimsy red herring. The courts ignored Ghandi's view on the matter and so have I

If you wanted to know the general opinion on the matter, why are attacks being made the the 'left losers'? I was hugely interested in this thread as a politics student, however it provides me with further confirmation that people, both on the left, right and anywhere else on the political spectrum are unable to respect other's view on these controversial issues. Of course this doesn't apply to all contributors of this thread, but when evidence is provided on an issue, why do people perceive this as bullying and harassment?

So... you're now modifying your view. Because you start off by saying that you only think rich people deserve to have their lives taken away from them. However, now you're saying that murderers also deserve it. I think that before you get any further involved in this debate, you need to actually decide where you stand, because it's clear to me that you don't currently know.

I viewed his reply as harassment because he brought up the fact that I'm a new member and therefore I'm automatically a troll. As I've stated, I come from Bosnia and Herzegovina and I and the people of my country have vastly different views to those of the UK which is why I created this post in the first place. I'm glad you are interested in this post and hope that civilised discussion can begin again by the next posters who reply to the question.

based on how much suffering that wealthy powerful people who have the ability to control virtually any service that everyone relies on (electricity, water, agriculture), the deaths caused at their hands are actually far larger than those caused by any one mass murderer.

i'm only suggesting that rich people deserve the death penalty to set an example for them all, since clearly there isn't enough motivation for them to not be disgusting creatures who ravage our planet and who promote inhumane conditions for profit.

I'm fairly sure you're the one bullying until we accept your views? Pretty much everyone else has provided concise and well-reasoned arguments and you've either taken no notice or belittled others into submission

Because they are human and your point is nonsense, backed up by your childish and petty jealousy and absolutely nothing else. A maladaptive and damaging way of thinking. "XDDDDD"
