do you read up before the lecture, or after?

I read an overview before the lecure, but reading much more typically makes the lecture boring. Excluding one lecture where the powerpoint is neglected and the session is one big insightful discussion.

Otherwise, if something piques my interest in the lecture, then I'll seek out works on that afterwards and have some fun then.

what does anyone ekse do, or think of that?
