I went to university 10 years ago and studied
History for just over a year, I dropped out due to family crisis but I would now like to go to go back. What can I do to improve my chances of being accepted into a university, I really don't want to have to do an access course.

As long as you have the grades and the personal statement to back you'll be fine!

I did an Access course in 1998 and also had to drop out for family issues, but still got into my preferred degree three years ago and am in my final year now. Got funding for the whole three years.

It won't matter that I have been out of study for a long time?
