I'm currently at college. I'm planning to go to uni and I've all the ucas application done. but the college says I have to apply at 1st december which is too close to the UCAS deadline for my liking. I've tried talking to the teachers but they are not budging. help.

What is their reasoning for it? People in my class already have offers.

Applying in December is still pretty early. I sent mine off exactly one week ago, and I've got four out of five replies. Some colleges and schools wait until after the new year to do UCAS, so really, you're fine.

What's their reasoning for applying on that day? You won't be disadvantaged by applying then, everyone has an equal chance until the deadline.

If you've finished your application already, it doesn't really matter at all. You can just wait until then. Seems odd though.

They are probably just trying to schedule in all the personal statements they need to write.

It doesn't matter at all when you apply, so long as it's before the 15th Jan.

They say it's because they want to do it all in one but there's 40 of us all wanting to go to uni and i fear that it might take ages to get us all done.

    It's fine.

Applying early doesn't mean you'll get a better chance of receiving an offer. Universities are obliged to treat all applicants equally if they apply before the official UCAS deadline.
