    My tutor said that it's fine due to the fact that they will know what you're talking about, but I feel that it's too informal. However I'm struggling to make my statement under 4000 characters.

    It's fine if they are well-known abbreviations. However, you are more likely to get to the 47 line limit before the 4000 character limit, so you'll probably need to cut your PS down even more

    Haha I just discovered this, I was so relieved to be under the character limit and then UCAS told me that I'm 1 line over the 47 line limit ;-; Thanks though.
