What do you believe is the purpose of life? Specially, the purpose of your life?

Probably an overused one, but I really think mine is to help people, both in my career and personal life. I really want to raise a family, either biologically or adopt/foster and help to raise an educated, kind, and accepting next generation. I want to keep learning and better myself as much as possible, but also make sure I am happy and experience life

Me too! I think it's really important to get the balance between helping others and looking after yourself too. Do you find you get that balance? I think I'm getting better at it but need to remember to still

You definitely seem to be fulfilling that purpose, do you feel like you are?

So only a little bit of punching? :mmm:

But seriously, agreed, as long as you're not hurting others and are happy

I used to struggle with it but I can say no if I need to look after myself.

To use a quote from The Sound of Music: in my case, I feel my purpose in life/here on earth is "to find out what is the will of God and to do it wholeheartedly" :jebus:

Unfortunately much of the time, I have no idea what God wants of me :erm: So I just try to take every opportunity to be kind and good to others, and to help people feel better about themselves. I do believe that God asked me to look after someone many years ago, and I did everything possible to do so. I think I did a good job of looking after that person in that time/place/space

One of the most popular Roman Catholic saints, St Therese of Lisieux, said of herself that she was not destined to do big things for God, but rather to scatter flowers before Him and do little acts of kindness. I quite like that image, and feel it is true for me too

To be happy, experience new things and make an impact in the world however small or large. The idea of living a life in a dull, English town, working 9-5 and going to Spain every year on holiday is my idea of a nightmare. So, for me, it would be living a stress free life, seeing as much of the world I possibly can, working for a NGO or having a career in politics etc. I also want to feel like I'm part of an international community - rather than being closed off in a town or small village - which is probably why I'd love living in a multicultural city like London or NYC, where there's much to see and do. I also love learning and I feel living a life of ignorance is a waste, so I want to keep expanding my knowledge as much as possible.

The sole purpose of life is to glorify the Creator. Even those that deny His existence will glorify Him.

Sex. Lots of sex. As much sex as you can get.

Playing Mr Wobbly hides his helmet.
Bisecting the golden triangle.
Burying the family Jewels.
Pulling back the beef curtains and yodelling in the canyon.
Roasting the broomstick in the velvet oven.
Spearing the bearded clam.
Attacking the pink fortress.
Moistening the Pope.

Sex in the morning, sex at night, sex in the day, sex, sex, sexy sex, sexy-time sex.

Spoiler:
Show

I live a very closeted life.

Those that are spiritual (not a religion) or aware of consciousness know that life is simply to live and experience. We are spirit having a physical experience, everything that comes after is our choice.

Just two things and everything else comes from these.

1. Love God
2. Love one another.

Once you love God and realise He loves you your purpose in life is much clearer. It's like a release to get on with life without worrying.

To love one another is then to show God's love to other through your words and your actions. Actions range depending on what your calling is. Basic stuff like being kind and helpful, helping those in need locally to fully committing to do charity work abroad like working on feeding programmes in deprived areas etc.

How does God work? through you and me.

Those people saying they live for god are so illogical and I feel sorry for them wasting their lives.

Fundamentally, if there is an all-knowing god it would understand that humans are brought into a world that has so much uncertainty within it that we cannot believe completely in a god or just live entirely for it. If the god you know is so loving you would live your life the way you want and god would understand.

If we’re taking it to a very base level, the meaning of life is simply to capitalise on release of endorphins which stimulate and simulate happiness. In the short term this can be achieved by drugs, sex and parties. However, in the long sustainable term to achieve the greatest happiness across a lifetime, this occurs by reaching goals, having a partner/support system, by being comfortable with who you are, and finally by helping others along this perplexing journey we all take. We all have different parameters for long term happiness, these are those most typical.
