    Hi there.

So i am planning to go on travelling after completing my first year at Uni. I am going to take a gap year and i am wondering if i will still get my last maintenance loan payment in April even though i am not returning for my second year the following September?

I know that the last payment in April is not so much to cover the costs of University but instead make it easier to survive over the summer therefore i started thinking that they might not pay me the last chunk of Student finance simply because i wont be needing it.

    Can anyone clarify it ?

Hi there. The best thing to do is call the university and ask them personally, as they’ll how to deal with these sort of things

you will receive it - they don't know you won't be requiring finance the year after.
