Hi, I'm thinking about doing civil and environmental engineering at uni but I'm not rlly sure what it's all about and I want to know like how difficult is it? And what jobs can you get from it? Also I'm looking at Cardiff and also Brighton but I think Brighton might be a bit **** and I don't want to waste my time so does anyone know if their course is any good? And any recommendations on other uni's ?? Thanks

you do lots of mechanics and maths based type modules. lots of structures, fluid mechanics and soil mechanics. It's quite boring and very hard work. You can go into many careers. lots become actual engineers, some go into finance, there's many options.

Not to sound stupid but what does mechanics actually involve because I think that's what I'm unclear on, thanks

Mechanics overall is certainly a very broad subject, but in the context of civil engineering, it'll probably be mainly structures.

Mechanics will usually link to structures and structural engineering.
