Would the UK laws on immigration and their effect on society be a good topic ?
Like would there be enough information?

You need to do some research to give you a better idea on an effecive angle. I would try and keep the law element string if you are applying for a law degree and be careful about doing the society angle too much so it neds up being a sociology essay. jurisprudence fine.

You also need to get a handle on the topic itself so you know what ideas you want to cover. Its unclear.

The question may need a lot of playing around with so you find a way to discuss that is not too general and can be hadled effectively in 5000 words. Imo it looks unclear at the moment, but that should improve once you have a title.
