I wanna go reading, I plan on traveling from London, accommodation isn’t an option as I can’t leave my job and have to help around with bills around the house. I just wanna know if it’s easy to make friends/ socialise since I won’t be living on campus or nearby. Did you travel to uni and how was the experience also was it enjoyable

Its going to be a lot more challenging as your contact with other students is going to be a lot less.

You just have to make the best of it and make friends on your course, whilst on campus and joining societies.

The reason being whilst you are commuting other people are having dinner or going out in the evening, which is where some of the bonding and interacting goes on.

If you are confident and make an effort, then you can make friends.
You need to do this in the first 6 weeks imo before they all clique off.

That means talking , socialising and meeting up with people.

The worst mistake you can make is to be the person who sits on their own, doesnt interact and then just goes home.

The best thing you can do imo is start a facebook group and make good friends with other commuters. You have to make the effort though or you could end up isolated.
