13/11/2017 - Time To Sleep... Oh wait, I'm at School!

As suggested by this weird and not funny title, I didn't have much sleep and I wanted to sleep at school but you know, I can't (SAD TIMES!!!). I'm getting worse at sleeping nowadays. I actually don't know if it's stress or some crazy circumstance that involves me possible to never sleep ever again (I overexaggerate a lot ). Today was really just a boring day but then I did get some exciting news half an hour ago (Wait and see!!!)

Double Study: As I said in my last post, I wasn't bothered to go to the primary school and I've just realised that I forgot to call them. Hopefully, I remember to do it tomorrow. So yeah, my friend told me that there actually was history homework so I just did that at study. Literally, it took me two pages for a mindmap.

Double Economics: How does a teacher make you hate a subject so much? I don't hate the subject (obviously as my future careers are based on it) but everyone else does and are planning to drop it cos of her. My class just irritates me so much. They were all talking and I had some good points to say about externalities but she was too busy 'shouting' at them. I was fed up; this is a career I want to undertake but there are so many blockades. From now on, I'm just going to revise everything by myself at home and write notes and if I have questions, I can hopefully ask her during the lesson. In today's lesson, I was just organising my folder and dozing off.

Double History: It was meh. We were learning about James' financial circumstance and I guess I understand. I feel like my teacher doesn't like me because he never picks me to answer the questions even when I have my hand up. It's actually such a small class as well. However, I finally asked him at the end of the lesson about my problems with essay structure and he was quite helpful.

After school, I was basically relaxing because I was so tired and now, I'm about to do some psychology.

MY BIG NEWS: When I went to Tenerife in the summer holiday, I did this random survey (don't know why). They called me today and said 'You have won a 7 night all expenses family trip (up to 6 people) to Tenerife.' I was so excited and I still am. Me and my mum are gonna pick the tickets next week and we are going next summer holiday. SO EXCITED!

I slept badly last night too :five: but coffee kept me going haha
Such a shame about your economics teacher! That sounds like a good plan really, probably in your best interest too as you can't fully blame a bad teacher for getting the grades you get? If that makes sense

Ooooh! That holiday sounds so exciting congrats! :woo:

I’m gonna start drinking coffee instead of tea. But when my mum does it for me, she makes it so weak and it’s barely enough but I don’t want it as my friend who had six teaspoons of coffee powder.

Yeh I can’t blame the teacher. She’s alright I guess but she needs to be more strict and controlling (not too much tho).

Also, I’m so excited about my holiday. I’ve already started thinking about what to do!!!

So Im doing Tudors and america and dont understand those PEEL
paragraph. My teacher keeps on talking about them but I just dont get wwhat she means, she says that for my intro, i need to define my question, use criteria and and a judgement but i just dont get it.
    PEEL paragraphs:

    Point - Make your statement.
Evidence - Include whatever useful case studies or figures or historical opinions support the point you’ve just made.
Explain - Evaluate your point. Refer back to your original essay question, and evaluate things like the validity or usefulness.

Stick to this structure for each paragraph, alongside a strong intro and conclusion mixed with specialist language, and you’ve met the criteria the examiners are looking for.

I’m afraid I don’t know what the L stands for. Perhaps Link, as in link back to the original essay title?

Stick to this format and you’ll be golden. ☺️

1.5 teaspoons coffee, 1.5 teaspoons sugar (I like it sweet haha don't judge), fill it up mostly with water then add milk at the end that's my way!

Exactly. Think everyone's had a less-than-amazing teacher at some point! Just got to learn to get by

Ah bless! I don't blame you, must be a great feeling

14/11/2017 - Fear of Driving and Somehow Enthusiastic

This morning, I wanted to wake myself earlier so that I can make a nice breakfast but when the alarm went, I just switched off my phone and had extra sleep. That was such a big mistake because I was so hungry until lunch.

Study: I was going to relax during study today as I thought I had done all my homework but then I realised that I hadn't done my psychology homework. I somehow had my textbook so I literally just copied it all out. Normally, I would put the homework in my folder but I din't bring it today because of this driving programme so I just pushed it in my bad. Then, as I took it out, it was all scrunched up and torn apart. It's just so annoying.

Driving programme: There was this programme where they told us incidents of deaths caused by driving. I initially thought it was going to be a waste of time but I was wrong. It was really intense and sad. There was a moment where this man (who I thought was just a speaker recalling an event) telling us about this 16 year old girl who was going to her ballet studio but as she was crossing, she got hit by a car and her body was dragged along. Her father expected her to come home but she didn't so he went to the ballet studio past the police (he didn't know what was happening). The father couldn't find her there so he decided to report this to the police. The police asked him for her name and then told her she had died. The father was shook and the mather had a disorder after that where she couldn't face reality. The shocking moment was when the man recalling this event said that it was his daughter. He wasn't crying or anything and I just felt so sypathetic for him.

Double Economics: I actually was enthusiastic for once and kept on asking the questions but today's topic was really hard so I'm gonna go on some websites. Also, I got my result from my second economics test- 85% (A). I was very pleased.

That's it to be honest. I would write more but I am so tired and my laptop is so slow at typing.

Ooh, thank you. I try to keep my updates interesting for people who see it as well as myself.

The driving thing was so sad. People from my school were crying. There was this man who actually was in a car accident that came today and he was disabled and said that his girlfriend left him just because he couldn’t walk (the nerve she has!)

I’m improving a lot in economics. I’m getting my English result tomorrow so hope it is good.

    15/11/2017 - Leadership and Result

Hey Swifters (I'm just gonna say swifters cos I like the gist of it). So, like Protostar recommended, I drank coffee this morning because I was practically dead. However, it didn't help at all because I kept on yawning today and slept for 5 minutes during psychology (luckily no one noticed). I swear my mum doesn't put enough coffee powder. In general, today was meh. I mean I did get some exciting info but then the day just went 'huh'. I'm still tired right now guys. Also, I'm doing my blog early today because of the news I received today.

Double Study: You know how yesterday I was saying how my psychology homework got ripped, I just ended up glueing it together. Then, I decided to simplify my psychology note in revision cards so that for my january mocks and my future exams, I can just read them and memorise it easier. Also, i did some extra reading on The Great Gatsby for English.

Assembly: One of the forms in year 12 were doing a presentation on LGBTQ and I found their determination and passion on this subject quite admirable. It was good timing as well as Australia just announced same sex marriage to be legal. Additionally, they told us that headboy and headgirl hustings were going to happen in 27th November and those who want to apply should write a letter stating why they should be selected and will be shortlisted to the finals. I'm definitely going to be running for head boy as my school has 100 girls and 8 boys (boys could only enter in sixth form and only 8 came). Also, most of the boys in my school are lazy so they won't be bothered to apply.

Break: I don't usually talk about break but just wanted to say that I had been going around people in my year and being nice to them and asking what they want in a good headboy (trying to get ahead of the game, you know what I mean).

Double Psychology: We were learning about eyewitness testimonies really and just testing our memory ourselves. I was also chatting with my classmates by being nice and securing votes (I am overly passionate about this)

Double English Literature: I was so excited to get my Othello test back but she didn't give it back to us as two people still haven't done it yet so I'm getting it tomorrow. We were looking at Act 3 scene 1 and just basically analysing it. In the Great Gatsby I got my test back and I got 17/25 (B) which is alright and I kind of understand how to improve.

That's it to be honest. I cam home and ate and watched some netflix; 4 more days till netflix is officially cancelled *sigh* (my friend was like "what is wrong with you?"). Today, I'm not going to study because I need a break so I'm gonna work on my Headboy letter.

    16/11/2017 - Tragically Normal Thursday

So basically, as suggested by the title, it was a normal day. Nothing much but I'll try to keep it interesting. First of all, how am I still tired? I think I had a good sleep but I was so tired the whole day. Yesterday night, I must have been legit dead as the second I closed my eyes, I was gone; I woke up at 7:20 and only had ten minutes to do all the morning activities (apart from breakfast - which I didn't have) as I had to get to the car at 7:30 am. Also, I have to talk about lunch today because it was significantly sad (not as sad as Trump being elected - let's not do a debate, please ). Everything was fine as me and my friends were casually having lunch and just talking bantz. However, it all changed as we suddenly started talking about criminals (Especially rapists). Then, we started talking about personal matters based on heartless people. It's just absolutely ridiculous and I am baffled of how people can just commit crimes - isn't there an ounce of guilt. I started talking about Jyoti (India's infamous rape case) and how her main rapist was proud he had done that. What the hell is wrong with these people? Why are they still alive? Ok, I am getting to deep in this update. Let's just talk about my day.

Double English: Again, it was meh. We were looking at Act 3 Scene 3 and answered some questions whilst we individually got our tests and some verbal feedback. I got a high B/low A, which is quite good but I really want to improve though. However, my teacher is saying that I am improving so much. The problem with me is that I don't structure my ideas well and write it clearly even though I have apparently excellent ideas (Band 5 worthy).

Core Religious Studies: When you go to a Catholic school, you have to do compulsory core RE. The good thing about it is that I can rest in a way and chill because I won't get tested for it. On the contrary, today, I GOT A TEST ON IT. I mean, why? I had to write two stupid essays; I already have four essay subjects and I don't want to write more (DON'T THEY UNDERSTAND?).

Double Economics: My teacher is confusing me. We were learning about positive externalities today and did a practice 12 mark question. When I wrote my evaluation, she's like it's wrong. I know it was right though because it was an effective evaluative point based on the extract but she's like 'It's not in the mark scheme so it's wrong." Seriously! There are so many evaluative points based on the extract and the mark scheme only has two of them. No offence but it's not like the examiner is going to mark your evaluative points wrong because it's not in the mark scheme even though it is valid. I was fed up and somehow I dozed off and slept for 10 minutes (it's weird because I was sitting in the front so how did she not notice me.) Also, I was looking at revision materials on youtube and found out that I can't get A* unless I apply info from current firms. She legit never told us this. I'm just fed up, you know.

Double Study: As form captain, I need to make sure that my class has finished their powerpoint slides for the presentation. I forgot to do my own one (so stupid) so I spent most of my study doing it. My head of the sixth form was very wary about my form's idea of assembly (glorifying violence in media) but he still accepted it. I wanted to use a video so that I can explain the importance of this but my form tutor said to make sure the video is not extreme or something as my head of the sixth form is very strict. Luckily, I found a video of a scene from Spongebob Squarepants where Spongebob is strangling Mr Krabs. After that, I did a bit of economics revision and then chilled.

When I got home, I just watched Riverdale (turning out to be my favourite show but might not watch it anymore due to my cancellation) and The Apprentice (I still don't get how Charles is still not fired). Then I did some economics revision and tried to find a history tutor. Hope this was interesting (I try my best)

Strange how such discussions can come about during break/lunch have had it happen to me quite a few times and everyone gets so heated! I remember during the General Election too, god...

Well done with English! sounds like your teacher is impressed, and you're only gonna go from strength to strength Compulsory RE :yucky: RE tests :yucky::yucky: that sucks how they sprung that on you! I wouldn't have even tried if I were in that position  What's up with your Economics teacher?? Sounds pretty dodgy to me! But I suppose so long as you know that in the real thing it's not just the examples in the mark schemes that get credit you'll be okay, as at the end of the day that's all that matters really!

    Hey!

    1. Yeh lunch today was just so deep and emotional but I feel like we got closer as friends.
    2. My English teacher was very impressed
    3. Compulsory RE is such a waste of time. I could get an extra study instead
    4. My economics teacher is very dodgy bruh.
    5. That's what I told her about having extra examples but some people are just adamant.
    6. I always love your replies by the way
