I usually made notes every time I revise, but I feel like it's too time consuming and I'm writing for the sake of it. Nothing really goes in my head as I write these notes, should I bother? What did you do to revise for GSCE's?

Writing out notes helps when organising all the knowledge you need for your subject. However, you should focus on making sure that knowledge is retained. Make flashcards, do past papers (check which exam boards your school is using for each subject), draw mindmaps from memory. At the end of the day, you need to be able to tell the examiner what they want to hear and that way, you'll get the marks you need.

Only make notes if making notes is what works for you. A big reason that it's highly recommended is that it works for the vast majority of people but if it doesn't work for you then you're wasting your time. Try reading through the textbook or doing past papers instead.
