One of my Facebook 'friends' wrote to me when I was saying that I was lonely

'You have plenty of friends ****** you need to remember that. And you're so cherished and loved- see yourself through our eyes and then you'll see how great you are.

    Lots of love ****** xxxx'

Is this a nice message to receive?

It depends on your perspective and the context.

If you just told them that you were having a difficult time, then yes I think that would be nice.

If you just told them you had a low self esteem, and didn't like yourself, then yes I think that would be nice.

But it's not about what I think, it's about what you think and how the person intended it.

If you are not sure, then ask that person, and they will tell you how they meant it.

Someone has just told you that you are cherished and loved, yet you're doubting if this is nice? Boy, if you don't think this is nice I hate to imagine what it takes to impress you!

What did they mean by 'cherished'?
Have you ever experienced racism/sexism at uni?
