so I’ve been in this process for 3 months now and I finally got told everything was sorted and heard back today that actually nothing has been because we need my fathers seperation proof?

What proof is accepted and what if we don’t have the proof is needed, or can’t afford the lawyer because my dad has been paying my uni living cost because you guys have took your time?

    Hi Indy27,

The proof we require to confirm separation is

    • Decree Nisi
    • Most recently dated Council tax bill showing 25% single person occupancy discount
    • Solicitors letter confirming separation
    • A Signed Affidavit* - a sworn declaration they make in writing describing facts that they wish to state as true. They typically make an Affidavit under oath and sign it and have it stamped by a Solicitor.
    • Statutory declaration* - normally drafted by a Solicitor who is usually a Notary Public or can be drafted by a Legal Executive authorised to administer Oaths. Alternatively, the declaration can be made before a Magistrate (also known as a Justice of the Peace) or some Magistrates Clerks at a Magistrates Court.

This will take 20 working days to process for the date received.

    Thanks

    Catherine
