Holding offers from UBS and Barclays for a 2018 IBD SA position.
What are your thoughts on which to go for?

UBS has fewer interns recently with high conversion rates, in addition to the bank being stable.
Barclays is kinda still all over the place?

    Barclays no questions asked
specifically if you're looking into M&A

In terms of brand name, Barclays has a slight edge. However, UBS has Andrea Orcel leading its investment bank and he seems to be doing a great job. They have reshaped their business and are taking careful steps towards establishing themselves as leaders in areas they focus strongly. Barclays management seems all over the place and their results have been trash lately. A person high up in the industry told me to avoid Barc and DB. I would go with UBS, but you can't go wrong with either. Congratulations!

any ideas what the respective top groups at both shops are?

I know Barclays has great PUI + NatRes stateside. Are these two teams doing well in EMEA? And what about LevFin?

UBS TMT used to be top 5 in the city. Is it still good?

Anyone know when UBS will be asking incoming CCS grads to pick groups? Contract says 16 weeks before start date which is about now, but have heard zippo so far.

LevFin for both are quite strong but Barclays is for me slightly stronger.

Was EX-ubs, does it makes any big difference now? Ken Moelis was ex-ubs as well but he left as well
