So i was introduced to this girl a few weeks ago through a mutual friend. Since then, we've been talking a lot and have met up a few times. From the beginning i knew that she was talking to some other guy, who she likes, but she said it wasn't anything serious and that she wanted to get to know me/spend time with me. Last Sunday we went out for food and she told me that she liked me more than this guy, and everything seemed great. Yesterday, however, she told me that she doesn't think she can date me, that it all seems a bit too much too soon and that she wants to see where things go with this guy. We agreed to go for coffee tomorrow to clear things up, but i have no idea what to say/do, or just how to generally deal with this situation - any help would be much appreciated.

(Side note, the guy in question is French, and lives in France. She met him on holiday and he only came to visit her once a month ago - i feel like she feels a sense of obligation to him for flying out but i don't know)

Act normal, don't be pushy and respect her decision. She's probably just exploring her options right now and she might be conflicted between him and you.

Just talk to her, tell her you like her and tell her what you want (relationship or FWB) then ask if she wants the same from you.
