Do terrorists have to act on behalf of an organisation or can they act on their own and still regarded as terrorists? For example, if an environmental campaigner sets fire to GM crops for her own political beliefs and in doing so, results in few deaths, apart from being convicted of arson and murder, could she be convicted under any terrorism Acts? PLEASE REPLY! thanks

The problem is the idea of what being regarded as a terrorist means. Can they be convicted under terrorism legislation without belonging specifically to a terrorist organisation, then yes. You will find people who commit offences are charged with normal criminal law in many instances and only charged under terrorism legislation where a terrorist specific offence has been committed. There have been a number of cases involving eco terrorism or pro lifers, but i cant recall any of them being individuals acting alone. I cant see there being any issue if the PS chooses to charge them in that way, although it becomes less credible and harder to prove if its all supposedly alone and I can see them being charged just with normal offences and to the extent its relevant then it can be reflected at sentencing.

If you ,look at terrorist legislation then you cna see how its hard to get the circumstances you describe.
