To integrate 12xe^(2x) dx from range 1 to 0. If I use u as x why does it give a different answer to when I use u as 12x. Which one is the correct?

You shouldn't. Can you post your working? Are you sure you're substituting/adjusting your integration bounds properly?

Remember that \int_{a}^{b} Kf(x)dx \equiv K\int_{a}^{b} f(x)dx for any constant K. So you can simply pull the 12 out to the front of the integral.

Thank you, it's been a long while . I'm just passing by - saw an advertisement for TSR the other day and figured I'd drop in and give a bit of help here and there in my (albeit limited, sadly) free time to help out the new folks! I presume almost all of the old guard have moved on by now?

Depends what you mean by the old guard. DFranklin, Ghostwalker, The bear and myself are the regulars that have been here the longest. I don't know if any of them were active when you were.

I remember you used to help me back when I did A Level so thanks for that
