Michael Frayn - Spies - Character descriptions! Watch
For instance, if someone could do me a little description of any of these then that would be great:
Hope you understand ^^
Oh and also, i've been looking around for somewhere that can supply me with a description of what happens in each of the chapters. So that when it comes to revision I can easily look at the notes and be able to know what happens where.
Are You Kidding Barbara Is A Great, Key Character
Here Some Info On Her I Got In Class Today:
Barbara Is The First Person Who Triggers The Feeling That Stephen Cant Describe (lamorna).
Her Purse Is A Symbol Of Her Femininity, The Thing Stephen Once Found So Annoying, Then Goes On To Be Sweet And Girly.
Barbara's Smiles Allow You To Tell What Mood She Is In, Her Big Smiles Mean She Is Going To Be Nasty And Her Smaller Smiles Mean She Is Being Nice And Genuine.
Barbara And Stephen Move From Childhood To Adulthood Together. They Share Many Poignant Moments Together, Their First Cigerette, Their First Kiss. You Could Say As Some Sort Of Rite Of Passage.
Barbara Also Represents Many Children Who Were Effected By The War. For Example She Is Lonely And Wants A Friend. Her Father Is Absent From Home And She Is Running Wild Etc..
Hope This Helps
I have my exam on Wednesday for it
If you search Spies on Wikipedia there is some information on characters.
Also, if you want a lengthly descriptions on the chapters, characters, themes ect. I recommend buying 'York Notes on Spies'. It contains a lot of information on Spies, which may come in handy. Its deffinetly helping me!
