    Question is

    M=wx(l-x)/2

    M=70
    L=20
    W=1.5

    I need to rearrange this so I can put it into a quadratic formula. I need to rearrange this equation to the quadratic standard form equation to get values for a, b and c then use the quadratic formula to find 2 possible values for x. Can anyone help please?

    Multiply out the bracket.
    70=1.5x(20-x)/2 =(30x-1.5x^2)/2 = 15x - 0.75x^2
    Easy from there.
