I am currently getting a head start on my personal statement and university of derby is one of my choices and I was wondering if it more academically aimed or more extra curricular aimed.

Also any help with personal statement writing would be great aswell

    Any help would be great.
    Thank you

    Hey there!

Your personal statement should be at the very most 20% non-academic (extra-curricular) and the rest should be academia related. So, you should make a list of thing non-academic and academic and see which has more gaps.

Usually, something impressive academic wise will have more of an impact than something non-academic as it shows excellence for the subject you wish to apply for.

As for personal statement help: Here's a link to a video that really helped me when writing my statement. It's 30 mins long but it's pure gold and should help you too!

Also, make sure you get your drafts in to teachers to review as soon as possible as you want to be doing before they get tonnes of students asking for there's to be looked over as not as much time will be spent looking over yours.

    Hope this helped!
