I’m looking at going to uni but need proof of English and Math’s GCSE, but only received mine on paper and never received a certificate. I’m worried that they won’t have a certificate for me. Will they still allow me on the course with no proof of English or maths besides a piece of paper issued by college?

Ask your college if they still have the certificates. It was your responsibility to collect them and the college has permission to destroy them if they are are not collected.
If they no longer have them you can request a replacement certified statement of results from the examiner concerned but this will cost you. There is information about replacements for lost certificates on each examiners web site.

The issue is I was only given my results on a piece of paper so if I give them that and proof of identification are they able to issue me a new certificate?

They can. You can get certificates from the exam centres. They’re just expensive, we were told not to lose ours and take care of them because they cost £30 per new one.

(I don’t know how accurate that is, as listen above, check online for prices)
