I started at university this year (aged 20) and my mental health got so bad I had to defer. So now I have ten months before I start back in first year again.

I'm really worried I'll be a year older but no more mature and unable to fit in with other freshers.

My health is so bad I have my doubts as to whether I'll be able to do anything this year.

(I have really severe BPD and a job just isn't an option right now)

    1. If you dont tell them nobody will know. There will be a lot older people.

    2. If you do tell them, then nobody will care about your age and it wont stop you doing anything.

    3. Getting worried about this is all in your head about something that doesnt matter. You are a close enough age that you will get on fine with freshers.

    4. Focus on getting better. probably things like socialising and building self confidence. that will help you see things more in perspective and realise the sky inst falling in and everything can be good .

Maybe do some voluntary work or join some clubs/ societies? You cna do a lot in ten months.
