My daughter was born in Australia and presently resides here with me. Her father is British and he lives in the UK and my daughter also has a British passport. She lived in the UK for 2 and a half years when she was younger. She finishes year 12 here in Australia this week and wants to go live in the UK with her Dad and other family members there including her aging grandfather. She wishes to work and then start university there Sept 2018. Is she eligible to get a student loan there to help her study and live there? I have just read that she may have had to have been a resident there for 3 years before she can get a student loan there. Is that correct? We cannot afford to pay the fees upfront but she wants to go to uni there. Is my information correct? Your help would truly be appreciated

Yes, you need to have lived here for the last three years to be counted as a domestic/EU student for fee purposes and for obtaining student loans, unfortunately.

Oh no. That is fair enough but so disappointing. Thank you for confirming.
