It's possible, but you won't be able to stay in the Uni's accommodation as many of the contracts require you to be 18 years and over.

It is possible to start university when you are still seventeen, however I think the majority of universities won't allow students entry who are under seventeen (I.e. 16 and under) at the start of the course. I have seen quite a few others who are starting university at seventeen so hopefully one of them will find this thread.

Honestly Courtney, you should ask your support teacher. I have a friend going through the exact same issues. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to so long as you have the grades and you think you are ready, however just double check with a teacher who knows what they are talking about. good luck with your future endeavours. xx
    yours sincerely your best friend

You may be able to, check with the individual unis you want to apply to.

Provided you meet the entry requirements and have completed the relevant Level 3 (A-Level / BTEC) qualifications - Then it’s possible, but up to the Uni and course you wish to do.

My friend is in her first year of an art course at Dundee. She left school (in Scotland) a year early and so was 16 at the start of the course.

She had no problem with admissions, accommodation or any other aspect relating to the university as a result of her age, and is loving it.

However, I know some of the other unis she applied to rejected her based on age (if I remember rightly, Edinburgh did). But most Scottish unis seem to be okay with 16 year olds going straight into uni, as we do a year less at school than England and so are under 18 anyway.
