So I have just started my first year at Uni of Southampton and everyone is already asking me if I want to live with them/about housing next year. I don't know what to do!!

Should I definitely choose my housemates now? Do I have to start looking at houses already? Is it better to think about this early on?

If you have any advice on what to do and what not to do in terms of picking future flatmates and looking for housing I would really appreciate it!!

I'm in the same position as you! I'm first year and I've made a friendship group in my course and they all seem really nice and I'd like to live with them, but I don't know how to bring it up without seeming clingy and needy and desperate for them to be my housemates. Obviously I kind of am clingy because I want to live with them instead of strangers but it isn't the end of the world if I don't. My uni has an accommodation fair coming up at the end of the month so I'll just be like "hey anyone want to go with me and look at possible houses". I've sort of talked about it, but just like "it'll be good to live with you guys because we are all on the same course" but haven't got further than that.
