Does anyone have advice for international students seeking mental health services? Should I seek assistance through my school, or my doctor, or...?

    Thanks in advance!

Usually the university has mental health services.
You can go to your GP and book an appointment.
If you are in crisis. There are help lines in each borough with qualified mental health professionals that will be willing to speak to you on the phone about your current concerns or issues that you want to address.

For symptoms that you may consider to be mild/slightly troublesome talking to your uni may suffice. For anything else I would thoroughly recommend seeing your GP who can signpost you to a range of specific services to help, they may even make a referral for you. Overall I would recommend the GP.

As long as you are living in the UK you can use whatever any non-international student can. That could mean your school support, your GP (who can refer you to other services) or charities like Childline, Mind.org or Sane.org.
If you think you may have a mental health problem then I would suggest you go see your GP with a list of what you're noticing, but you can still see your school support team or use charities too. Talking to student support may be a good start for you.

    Hope that helps

Depends on what for if it's mild and counselling will help, but for something a bit more moderate/ severe gp would be first port of call and they would decide of best course of action. Although nothing to stop you perusing support from the uni at the same time.
