Hi everyone,
Basically I’m studying English language and literature at AS level. The book we’re doing is In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. And the play is A Streetcar Named Desire. I’m really struggling with the course as I don’t personally find my two teachers efficient or helpful when it comes to preparation. I had to submit a first essay for in cold blood and really struggled. All I’m looking for is any textbook for WJEC English language and literature at AS level because I need to be able to revise independently if I even want to pass at this rate! Also any tips if anyone has them? Particularly on how to incorporate context in an essay!!

I'm not sure there is a generic WJEC English book but you can get seperate study guides for the play and the novel. I would recommend looking on the website to see if they have any exemplar answers and info about context. I'll attach a link with a past paper and mark scheme including context although I'm not sure if it's the right one for your exam board. Scroll down to AO3 and you'll still find some useful stuff even if it's not directly related.

Thank you for the help, it’s much appreciated! I have since bought textbooks for both the play and text as there was no specific exam board one, so I’m hoping the books will at least help with themes and context. I’ll look at the link though too so thanks
