    my teacher says to us everytime when writing an essay for english lit , to conceptualise our essay to acheive grade 9 i do not know what the hell that is please help she says a normal point is not enough and we need to add a concept to acheive higher grade bands ! help needed quick ive got an english lit mock tommorow

    i don’t know exactly what she’s talking about but she may want you to expand your points or add in references to the context of the novels relating to your points

    ive done the paper and managed to find out what a concept was before hand - a concept is a re occuring idea that you can refer back to throughout your whole answer on top of the points you make to answer the question ; for example in romeo and juliet the question was how does shakespeare present male agressive behaviour in the extract AND as the play as a whole

    My concept could be that masculinity is damaging and pointless : mercutio dies for a duel he didnt need to fight , friar lawrence says to romeo : thy tears are womanish , tybalt is so full of conflict he says look upon thy death etc etc this is for those who are aiming for those grade 9s (which should be all of us)
