Spanish gcse

So I am in year 11 and want to study medicine at Uni. I have done some of my gcses in year 10. I believe I can get As and A* in all 7 of my other subjects but the new Spanish course is very hard and I plan to drop it. I achieved a C last year in the actual Spanish GCSE.

Will this stop me from studying medicine if I drop it? Thanks

It would only prevent you from applying to UCL as they ask for a C in a GCSE language at the minute (maybe that will change with the new GCSEs, but I think it's unlikely) or maybe Oxford as they look at your total number of A*s as well as your overall percentage of A*s. Aside from that it won't make a difference.
