I'm hoping to study Medicine at a Russel Group uni.
How much work experience should I have ? Thank you !

You don't necessarily need work experience, but rather an awareness of the medical profession. Yes, doing work experience will help with that, but surprisingly the universities understand it can be hard to get. And in any case, quality over quantity! No point doing loads if you don't learn anything. Reflect on what you see!

If you can get a week or two, go for it. Otherwise I highly recommend doing some long term volunteering (e.g. hospice, care homes, even charity shops!) as it shows commitment over time.
