Hi,

I recently had to withdraw from my PGCE course in business education because my father had a heart attack and a stroke within the space of a month of each other. This meant I had to withdraw from the institute of education and move to North Wales to help look after my father in his recovery.

I am thinking of re-applying to do a PGCE locally in North Wales next September but I am worried about my chances and whether a university will hold this against me due to my withdrawal from my previous PGCE. Can anyone help me with this problem?

I really want to become a teacher but have had to put my family first.

Thanks,

Rich

The only way you will find out is to ring up and ask. However, I think it fair to say you have reasonable mitigating circumstances.
