A STEM career encompasses a whole bunch of things.

You can rarely go wrong with taking Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics. Economics or Computing can also be well valued.

As a third choice, having Business/Psychology would be perfectly acceptable also.

Depends what kind of career you mean! STEM is pretty big y'know. I'm doing Biology, chemistry and psychology with a religious studies AS Level already in the bag and I'm going for biomed/microbiology. I know for physics and engineering you usually need physics and maths and sometimes chemistry. For the Tech side you'll probably need mainly ICT or Computer Science and for a bio/biomed degree you'll generally need biology and sometimes chemistry.

So yeah you'll have to be a bit more specific than just "a stem career".

For engineering the best combination is: Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics.
