Should I pick maths a level if I’m predicted a grade 6 plus?
It depends on what grade the sixth form/sixth form college you wish to attend asks for - many require at least a grade 7 at GCSE, with even colleges only accepting anything slightly lower in extreme, extenuating circumstances. If you really enjoy maths and feel that it’ll be beneficial for your future career, then there’s no harm in putting it down as one of your chosen subjects for wherever you’re applying to - they can only accept it or turn it down, and if they do come back to you saying that a 6 isn’t good enough for A-Level Maths, then you could speak to your teacher at your current school on how you can work towards bettering your grade. Remember, the 6 is only a prediction - it’s down to you to decide how hard you work in order to attain that 6, or potentially higher. Best of luck!
