I wanted to know how bad math studies can affect my application to unis like Sussex and king’s...I’m applying to their law department and my highest grade so far came this term, 37...is that good enough? Would really appreciate the help!

They probably won't care about it as it's unrelated to your proposed programme of study, if you are otherwise on target for their grade requirements (which I'm fairly certain you are, although I'm not 100% sure). That said if they have a very strong applicant cohort this year, you may be edged out due to picking a "soft" option. Maths Studies is just GCSE +1 after all, so you will have covered a good deal of the syllabus already anyway, which is something universities in general (and particularly "top" universities for highly academic subjects like Law) tend to frown upon.

It's unlikely to immediately remove your from consideration though, as indicated.
