"LLB students spend most, and can spend all, of their time studying law subjects, and are thus able to take a range of modules beyond the core subjects and explore the application of law in a variety of contexts. BA(Law) students are able to take a number of modules in other disciplines." - Nottingham Law School Webpage

As long as both satisfy the qualifying requirements from the Law Society you can consider both. If you're not aware of this, the LS requires you to study certain core subjects such as contract, constitutional, property/land, criminal, torts, equity etc. Of course, if you don't intend to practice then you won't need to worry about them, but its good to keep your options open, especially if you're about to start your degree. Make sure the BA lets you study ALL of the core modules.

The Nottingham BA looks like its just a very felxible joint honours degree - you might enjoy doing modules from other subjects - politics, criminology, sociologoy, economics etc. They tie quite nicely into a law degree and to be blunt, they'll probably pull up your average grades.

Another think to consider is what will employers think? The may think the LLB is more respected and more difficult to get on to.... just a thought

Another point is that they will probably regard the LLB as being more committed to Law.

The two most respected law degrees around aren't LLBs though, so a BA can't be that bad.

Yeah, but a Cambridge / Oxford BA isn't a BA in any real sense - everyone in graduate recruitments knows that an Oxbridge BA just means an Oxbridge degree, it doesn't say anything about the content (or lack of it)!
